“Time changes us.
We are continuously evolving
as the years pass by
and I believe my work should reflect journey…
always moving, changing,
revealing the path I am exploring.”

Timelapse
A Solo Exhibition by Jeanne T. Guay
My journey as a painter began the summer of 2014, shortly after turning 67 years old and returning home from assisting my best friend during her 10-year battle with breast cancer.
Witnessing the life changing moments we shared together filled me with so many emotions that it became difficult to hold them all in. Prior to this, I had never explored the world of art or painting, but I felt it could provide a therapeutic outlet for everything I was experiencing.
Turning to my son Joseph, a working artist, I asked if I could join him in his studio for the day and his response was encouraging and accompanied with the statement "I have a canvas waiting for you!”
With a small set of paints and a canvas in hand, I embarked on this newfound path of release and discovery. I realized that art can be a true form of expression, revealing what I felt inside.
Every afternoon I spent in the studio was matched with a childlike freedom to express without limitations and a healing energy that is only found within.
Over the course of the past 9 years, I've had the pleasure of sharing and selling numerous pieces thanks to all the people that have supported this new journey. My artistic style has continually evolved, exploring a diverse range of colors, textures, canvas and surfaces. I have learned that time changes us.
We are continuously evolving as the years pass by...and I believe my work should reflect this journey... always moving, changing, revealing the path I am exploring.
Painting has truly become a remarkable and cathartic creative endeavor for me, offering solace, inspiration and a shared connection with all those that experience it with me. Now at 76 years old, I am immensely grateful for the love and support I've received on this artistic journey. I hope you find enjoyment in witnessing the "Timelapse" of my experience.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
